PS 59 - School of the 21st Century
Architectural Record’s annual “Schools of the 21st Century” issue spotlights the latest thinking and the best ideas on the planning and design of K-12 school buildings. This year’s issue features EE&K’s inventive design for PS59. Working with a public-private partnership between the World Wide Group and the New York City Department of Education School Construction Authority, EE&K was able to transform of a 1917 Italianate nurse’s residence in a dense New York City neighborhood into a bright, bold, contemporary environment for learning.
